ChromoGenics receives order of SEK 4.5 million to deliver ConverLight to Ångström Laboratory in Uppsala

ChromoGenics AB (publ) has signed an agreement with the construction company NCC to deliver approximately 685 sqm ConverLight® dynamic glass to a new-build and expansion of the Ångström Laboratory facility. The property is owned by Akademiska Hus.

The project is a new-build and expansion of the New Ångström Laboratory at Uppsala University, whose properties are owned by Akademiska Hus. The construction company NCC is the contractor for the project. Deliveries are scheduled for the second quarter of 2019.

“We are pleased that research from Uppsala University will be used when the Ångström Laboratory is now being expanded. This was where technology for dynamic glass and windows with controllable transparency of light and solar heat began to develop 25 years ago under the leadership of Professor Claes-Göran Granqvist. The research led to a spin-off of ChromoGenics AB in 2003. We have followed the company’s development, and we are pleased to see their finished product in our buildings,” says Johan Tysk, professor and vice-principal of Faculty of Science and Technology, Uppsala University.

“We are glad to note that the increased market interest in our products now results in orders. It is gratifying that Akademiska Hus, together with NCC, chooses ConverLight as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solar control solution to the property in which Ångström Laboratory is operating their research work. This is where ConverLight originated from world-leading research in electrochromic materials. ConverLight provides comfortable daylight in the premises while the heat is shut out during summertime, which increases comfort and energy efficiency and contributes to green building certifications,” says Jerker Lundgren, CEO of ChromoGenics.
